 This Onion Pie is a savory and comforting dish perfect for any meal. The filling is a rich blend of onions, eggs, milk, cream, and shredded cheddar cheese with a flaky frozen pie crust as the base. Seasoned with onion salt and black pepper, this pie is a delightful combination of creamy, cheesy, and slightly sweet flavors from the onions.

All types of onions have great health benefits related to cardiovascular diseases and cancer. They are also antibacterial and natural antibiotics!

What you need for the Onion Pie

  • 1  frozen pie crust
  • 1 medium onion
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 tsp onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, preferably white. I heap my measuring cup with the cheese.

Suggested Side Dishes:

Ingredients
  

  • 1 frozen pie crust
  • 1 medium onion
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 tsp onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese preferably white. I heap my measuring cup with the cheese.

Instructions
 

  • 1 frozen pie crust
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 tsp onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, preferably white (heaping)
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Place the frozen pie crust in a pie dish.
  • Spread the sliced onions evenly over the pie crust.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, onion salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the onions in the pie crust.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the pie is set and the top is golden brown.
  • Allow the pie to cool slightly before serving
